The colours used are often very bright, and there is much additional depth added to the work by the beading (metal and other) and heavy use of mirror embroidery. Arranging organically (without emphasis on symmetry) many different sized and coloured patches of material, they create a very original style of work that is unique to this part of India (Rajasthan, Gujarat). The resulting pieces are often made into wall hangings, table runners and sometimes even garments. This style of work is labour intensive and is highly sought after for its special character. </div> <bR> <div> At SOMA, we stock a small range of original gypsy pieces that have been made into wall hangings. The choice of colour is varied and the designs have a strong local flavor. Most of the pieces are around 3' X 5' sqft and come fully finished with a strong cotton backing.</div> <bR> <div> Please note that  big quantity is only possible in this item by prior order.
